  1. Hi,

I have made a menu for a series and have put 5 Episodes onto the DVD and it comes to 4.3 GB.

I'm using NeroVision Express and have it set on Extended play to give it the best quality but its going to take 5 Hours to burn. Looks as if its burning it while watching the second by second.

Does that seem right or can I speed it up but get the same quality?

Or is there any better software to do this?

    Thanks

This timing may be correct but looking at your post and your profile I can't tell whether your burning on a 400mhz machine or a 4000mhz machine. I can't tell how much RAM you have installed and I also can not see whether you are burning with a 2x DVD or 16x DVD burner. Without full system specs it's impossible to tell whether the times reported are correct for your system.

    383 Mb RAM
    Its a LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-1633S so think its 8X Burning for DVD-R

    Thanks

    Hi Tel,

What ROF is trying to say is "go to your profile and update your computer details there". Once done, you too will then have an icon in all your posts (like mine and ROF's) reading "Computer Details".

However, even if your system is a lower spec and if you're using a 1x DVD disc and / or burner - five hours seems excessive. I don't know NeroVision Express, but I wonder if it's doing any kind of re-coding or encoding of the MPEG2?

It's encoding your video and that takes a long time. Nero is not the preferred choice as a video encoder. As a burning engine it's fine, for other purposes not so fine.

Lots of good encoders, check the "tools" section.
