i have read a few forums concerning mkv files and how to convert them. i have tried "avi2dvd" but when asked to select an audio stream none were available.. so i was then put onto a program called "mkvextractgui" so i put my mkv file thru this but i ended up with 2 files.. Track1.rmvb and Track2.ogg which when i click on track1 just plays the video with no sound if anybody could come up with any answers using either program (or any other method) on how to get this file onto a disc so i can watch it on tv i would be very grateful tia

  2. Track1.rmvb - is your video (format used by RealPlayer)
Track2.ogg - is your audio (Open Source format for audio)

You used MKVExtract GUI to split the two apart (you took the two separate parts out of the *.MKV container)

Your still on track. You now need a guide to follow that deals with separate audio and video.

Both tracks may need to be converted to other formats before they can be seen by Avi2DVD.

convert the track2.ogg to wav...search for ogg to wav. and use wav in avi2dvd.

  4. OggDrop is simple. It's usually used to encode to *.OGG from *.WAV but it can also decode from *.OGG to *.WAV.
