I have a Panisonic RV31 DVD Player that doesn't support SVCD, but supports VCD. In a recent experiment I burned an MPEG 1 file in SVCD format and it ran on my DVD Player. Now here is where my question comes in, can I now have multiple audio streams and subtitles with my MPEG 1 file if it is burned in SVCD format? Also would menus work in this scenerio?
Thanks in advance!!!

Corta2863,
What an opposite coincidence. I've been making MPEG-2 compression and burn as VCD. My player supports almost everything but it can't "resume" on SVCD. Therefore, I made myself a new kind of VCD. I call it xSVCD. And I was able to make sub, multi-audio, etc. My suggestion to you is why don't you play around and test your player. However, I must remind you that MPEG-1 does not support on/off subtitles (that's why I make it the other way around). Good LuckJordan
