I bought a DV capture card with a cable and a Ulead disk for like 12.00 on ebay. How do I know what kind of card I got? I know its probably the bottom of the line, but I can't figure out even what kind it is. Anyone?

Most any PCI card has a FCC id number on it. You can check on a site similar to this: http://www.driverzone.com/fcc_id_search.htm and you should find a link to the manufacturer. Go to their site to look for drivers if you need them.
In general a Firewire card doesn't need drivers. The OS, XP in particular, will apply a generic driver and it should work fine. Just plug it in and try it. I generally use WinDV for Firewire transfers to the computer.
