  1. My wife took a short video of our boy walking by using her digital camera. Of course, she did the "portrait" rather than the "landscape". Once uploaded to the PC, the video (aiv) is playing sideways. I don't know how to rotate the video 90 degrees like you do to a picture. Any ideas? Thanks.

  3. Thanks. If not too complicated, can you show me how to do it? Never used filters before. Any guides out there? If it takes too much time, don't worry about it. Thanks.

  4. It's pretty simple.
    1. Load your video
    2. Video/Filters/Add - select Rotate
    3. Set the angle you want it rotated to.
    4. Video/Compression - select desired codec
    5. Save as AVI

    I may have missed some detail in there, but those are the basic steps. I'm not sure what format your source video is in so if you have difficulty opening it in VirtualDub post back here with the details of your source.

    This is for Virtualdubmod - but they are all pretty similar.

    1. Load in the video
    2. Menu : Video -> Filters. Click on the Add button and scroll down until you find the Rotate filter. Double-click to load the filter
    3. Set filter accordingly and click OK, then OK again.
    4. You should see the output in the output (lefthand) window.
    5. Menu : Video -> Full Processing Mode. Video -> Compression. Set your compression accordingly.
    6. Menu : File -> Save As.

    You will probably find that the aspect ratio is now incorrect, as you have rolled the video over and made it taller than it would normally be. This is not a problem if you just want to save the video in a PC format. (Divx etc) If you want to eventually make this into a DVD you will have to fix it.

  6. Thank you both -- you are the best. (Only if you had such quick fixes for my Indy Colts!)

    This is a short clip to be made into wmv and sent to grandpa, so I am not going to worry abou the aspect ratio thing.

    Thanks again!
