svcd freeze

i have problems with Dr Dolittle2 rip ,i use smartripper-dvd2avi-tmpeg. when i make it into svcd the picture freezes 0.5sec every 10 sec -why is that?

assuming you use "movie mode" to get rid of any possible multi-angles in the movie, did u?

1) turn off all major applications while encoding?
2) did you use forced film in dvd2avi and 3:2 pulldown in tmpgenc?
3) if you turned off forced film in dvd2avi and made your rip interlaced rather than using 3:2 pulldown, make sure you select the right field order in the video source settings. if this is the case, try switching to the other field order. for me, if i make my dvd rips interlaced, only bottom field first will make my rip play smoothly. if you get the field order wrong, the rip will be very, very jumpy, like it's trying to go backwards or something.
