Just bought a Sharp TFT 17" monitor and 6600gt card.

I read somewhere that the picture is a lot clearer with a dvi-d cable connection - so i tried it.

Thats when i get the msg on the lcd screen - no video input signal.

At the moment i haven't got a VGA cable so i cant even test it properly, but i would say the TFT is working fine.

I also read that i might have to go into settings and set the video card to use dvi connection.

I would appreciate any solutions for this problem.

Are you sure the LCD screen is taking the input from the DVI, and not the regular VGA-15 plug?

I'm not sure what u mean?

I only have a DVI cable (24 pins) which connects to the DVI slot on the graphics card and the one on the TFT. The DVI cable wont fit the VGA slot; but i'm not sure if thats what u meant.

    Could u plz explain.

Rephrasing question: "Is the DVI port the ONLY input port on the TFT?" (Some TFTs may have more than one input ports)

In that case, is there a menu or a button you need to push to make the monitor switch to the DVI input?

You likely need to install the proper video card drivers for the new card. But I'm assuming you can't as you have no display.

You may have to temporarily use a VGA monitor to first uninstall your old video card drivers, then install the new ones. Then you may have to enable the TFT DVI as the primary monitor, then remove the VGA monitor. I'm not familiar with that card.

    Got it working!!!

    Thanx for the help guys!

I did have to push a button on the monitor to get DVI input. What thru me off was that the button was at the front beside the menu and volume buttons.
I was expecting a switch at the back to flick or something.

Also installed the drivers from the floppy which gave a better resolution than the windows generic after a reboot.

Anyway, thanx again, i owe u both my gratitude!!!
