  1. Is there ANY way that good/best quality vhs recordings can be made HD for future dvd generations? Using up converters ar anything you guys know of-Thank You.

    First all HDTV sets can upscale analog composite inputs internally.

    VHS has less than 352x480/576 actual resolution. On a HDTV display, a 720x480/576 capture might look less pixelated than 352. Either 352 or 720 will be upscaled by the HDTV to its native display resolution.

    There is no advantage from upscaling the capture file beyond 720x480/576. It will only make the file size larger.
