    Every time I start up GUI for DVDAUTHOR, it tries to install Smartsound Quicktracks. What do I need to to to stop this from happening?

    I have not the slightest idea (I don't even know Smartsound Quicktracks).
    We can only try to do some error tracking...
    1. Does this also happen, if you start the chaptereditor separately?
    2. I could compile a special version for you (with some logging of the startup procedure) to track the specific command, that causes this strange behavior. Feel free to contact me by email if you are interested.

    I ended up removing the Smartsound Quicktracks (I'm not even sure how it got there) and everything is working fine now. Thanks.
