  2. Use TMPGEnc to convert AVI to MPEG. It's the best and
    it's free!

You can get it at http://www.tmpgenc.com

  4. The 224 kb/s should be the norm for a VCD .
I always extract the DIVX AVI audio using this method
    http://www.vcdhelp.com/virtualdubaudio.htm
and save as a WAV then reload the original movie along with the saved WAV and output to MPEG 1 VCD.

  5. Should I put the audio settings down................ they are currently on
    Sampling Frequency - 4100
    Channel Mode - Stereo
    Bitrate - 192

should I make them smaller to stop the glitches?

  6. The most common template i use is the NTSC VCD Film ..
    it uses:
    44,100
    and
    224
    and I have no problems.
Many people like Nero but personally I always get frozen up at the end of a session so try VCDEASY.
I find its quite easy and has given me many succesful burns.
