I have a bit of a mess to tidy up
I have 300 broadcast videos that were originally recorded in mono.
These were digitized and saved as stereo wav files with the audio on the left track only (nothing on the right track)
The files were then converted to AC3 format and burned to DVD.
The only files I have now are the AC3 files.
Surprise surprise the only output is from the left speaker.
What is the best way of fixing this?
Is there a tool that will batch convert these files so that they will play the same sound through both channels?
    Ideas, suggestions?
    thanks
(Tools used to date, Canopus ADVC 300, Canopus Procoder, the TMPG AC3 encoder and DVDlab pro)

(P.S. I have full copyright privileges to these recordings)

You'll probably have to convert the files to wav, then copy one channel over to the other or save as mono, depending on what you want when you're done. Something like ac3 filter might make the ac3 more accessible to other software.

Might look at avisynth for batching, I use the Sony/SOFO Batch Convertor, might be a way to set up Graphedit to accept a list of ac3 files (similar to old method of feeding it list of vobs).

Also, do you have to split files up, or could you possibly extract just one big audio file to convert? If you're going back to DVD as stereo for example, might not matter.

I am looking at using DB converter that can in one step go from AC3 to Stereo mono, then next step AC3 convert it.
