  1. Hi!!! Im having some problems with DVDs that I burn on my computer and I cant find the answer to this problem. I hope some one here has an idea of what is wrong. The problem im having is that video dvds that I burn cant be played on my computer but they can be played in standalone dvd players. Ok, this is what im doing. Im using dvd-r DVDs in Samsung dvd burner. The videos that I have been trying to put on dvd have been 2 different types. One type is an BIN or ISO image files and the other type is from the Audio_TS and Video_TS folders . I burn mine dvds with Nero 6 as either image or video dvd. Anyway the result is always the same. The DVDs play on different standalone dvd players but when I try to play them in my computer I get a message that says “Disc damage may have occurred that prevents playback.” This happens when I use powerdvd, windows media player 9, or nero showtime media player. This happens when I put my DVDs into Samsung dvd burner or a Toshiba dvd player that is also in my computer. The DVDs are recognized by the computer because the dvd name shows in the windows explorer when I check in my computer and also I can open up the dvd with windows explore and see the files on the DVDs. Oh my computer is windows 2000 and Athlon XP 2000 cpu and 512mb ram. I have burned data dvds with these dvd-r discs and things seem to be good with them and no problems. I have burned many svcd and vcd discs that work, but im new to dvd and hope some of you guys can help me. Thank you.

Are you able to play commercial DVD's on your pc?

If not, try uninstalling, then reinstalling PowerDVD.
