I am recording directly from MiniDV camcorder to DVD-recorder.
I have date/time already recorded on the DV tape.

When I record using analogue (S-Video or Composite) the date/time gets transferred but when I use Digital to Digital (firewire cable) the date/time does not get transferred to the DVD-recorder (nor does it appear on the monitor.

How can I get date/time as recorded on DV-tape to tranfers to DVD-recorder via the firewire link/cable?

    Any ideas anyone?

Some camcorders have a menu setting allowing you to output the D/T on either FW or Analog or both or neither. Other camcorders don't have that feature and you're stuck with their preset choice. Check your manual. If you've got the feature, it'll be in a menu setting somewhere.

    Thanks for the info.
My camcorder is a Panasonic NVDS65B model. I cannot find this feature in the manual or menus.

According to page 47 of the on-line manual, you can change the way time/date is dsiplayed. You can find it here http://techdocs.panasonic.co.uk/docs/1z43ca3685z3z1fc5bz656ez706466z21zcce1bcdac49564c.../lsqt0681b.pdf

I would hook the camera up and watch the preview on the TV if you can while you play with these settings and see if the display shows up.
