  1. My sony dav-sr2 (EISA, best of 2005 dvd-players) is freezing almost every movie I watch when I get through the first 40 min. Allthough most of my dvds are backups it is even lagging on the retail DVDs, but when I remove the stickets from the disc it gets better but still freezes. However on my pc (powerdvd) it's all fine, and it can't be a disc problem since it allways laggs at a different place...
My dvd-player is standing on the floor, can this be an issue or could(as i think it is) it be something else?

    Hope someone can help me

The most common cause of this problem is media. Try a different brand/type. And do NOT put labels on the discs. If the discs already have labels on them, remove the labels, most of the time this will solve the problem (assuming the disc type is compatible). Bad media doesn't always skip/pause in the same place.

If your player is having issues with retail discs...then you are having player issues.

Also note that Sony players are known to be very picky with the type of media that will work.
