    Hi,

    I've got a Sony DV cam from 2003 (cheapest model) which lately has got an annoying buzz on every 2 seconds of each recording (clip). You guys think it would help if I bought an external mic to put on top or do I really have to cut out 2 first seconds of each clip?

    Forgot to mention that this buzz fades out so it must be something related to when the cam starts recording.

    Are you sure the buzz is being picked up by the mic, and not internal to the unit ? If it isn't being picked up through the mic then buying another mic is a waste of money.
