Neophyte here, don't know squat about this. I would like to post a 30 sec slide show on my website (plenty of room there). I have Premeire 6.5 so I can convert my project to Real or Quicktime or anything else probably. Now just how in the heck do I get it uploaded? Or am I blowing smoke? Any recomendations?

True streaming video is only possible with a streaming server. Hosting your video on a streaming server can get expensive. However, you can post it on your own website. The simplest way is to simply upload the .rm or .mov file with a FTP client just like you would for any HTML file that you would upload, then create a hyperlink to that file. An example: http://www.myserver.net/slideshow.mov . RealMedia files should automatically open the RealPlayer and Quicktime movies should be able to play in the browser with the Quicktime plug-in. However, if you want to embed a player in a specific place on a web page and have it play directly there, you will need to let someone else answer that. I have not attempted that yet. The main difference between a streaming server and a web server is that the streaming server can communicate with the player about bandwidth conditions and the streaming server can then switch to a different bitrate version of your video if need be.

Windows Media Encoder would be worth looking into. It's free and you can stream with it. I think there's a few guides around here for that somewhere, too.
