    Hi folks,

I have few questions and i hope i post it on the proper thread:

    1) I have a problem burning dvd file. I use kodak dvd-r media cd and nero burning rom 6 version 6.0.0.0[b]. To rip the video i use dvd santa. and to burn i use nero dvd buning rom 6. I have been successfu ripping and burning few dvds using above softwares in the past but lately i have problems with some. I would get an error message saying " DVD-Video files compliance test failed. The resulting DVD-video might be unplayable. do you want to continue?". I ignored warning and burned the dvd but did not played with my sony dvd player at all. Can nero encode and burn at the same time? if not what is the solution? please help! Is roxio dvd burning software would solve the problem because i do have Roxio easy cd+dvd creator version 6. I have not installed roxio yet fearing that it would create conflict with nero.

    2) I have problem copying dvd movies with some movies. I use nero dvd buning rom 6 to make exact copy with copy disc. Actually it would copy almost the entire disk, but around the end-after spending burning more than 20 minutes, it would say dvd burning failed. when i played partially burned dvd on my stand alone sony dvd, it would play but not the entire movie and sometimes the dvd player unable to read/play the partially copied dvd movie. How do i correct the problem? Please help. Would it also be possible to correct/repair those partially copied dvd movies-media cd?

    3) Recently a friend sent me dvd movie from australia. But i could not play it with sony dvd player, however it would play with my computer. How do i convert it to north american version (ntsc) because i think in austaralia the system is pal. How do i correct the problem? Please help.

    4) When i converted some of my avi files movies and burn them to dvd, and when i played the movie with my stand alone sony dvd player, no audio present at all, only pictures. what seems to be the problem? would it be also possible to repair the already burned dvd movie media cd(the one with no audio) without going through all the process and burning it all over using separate dvd-r media cd? Mostly how would i rectify the absence of the audio problem? when i play the avi file using my computer there is a sound and plays the movie properly. Absence of audio is present on the burned dvd only when it played on sony dvd.

    Thanks

1,2: try something else than nero and dvd santa. if you want all-in-one converter use divxtodvd. if you want to rip use anydvd and dvdshrink. copy dvds with imgburn.

    4. stop using nero and dvdsanta. try divxtodvd or learn how to encode using separate encoders like tmpgenc. if you have a receiver and using mpeg audio you might have to change the audio settings on your dvd player.

and please post in the general forum. this is not just about dvd authoring. moving you.

nero burning rom 6 version 6.0.0.0
You really can't expect much from what is basically a beta version of Nero. I don't think Nero even released a version 6.0.0.0. officially.

HAHA I actually liked NERO to burn until I found IMGTOOLBURN
If at first you don't succeed; call it version 1.0
