Okay i have a complicated situation here. I have a original DVD, that i want to rip to avi uncompressed, and edit it, change the music and then burn it to dvd-r again.

    here comes the problem:
I use DVDX and DVD2AVI (tried them both) and save it into a raw uncompressed avi file. Then i usepremiere to edit, and when im done i save the file to MPEG2 generic. and burn it with encore. the DVD works fine on the computer, BUT when i play it on my dvd player the picture flicker the whole way through.

has anyone had the same problem? please help

One possiblity is that you have reversed the fields, probably in premiere. If this is the case, restream should be able to put them back in the right order.

Agree with gunslinger -- if restream doesn't cure, might try dgpulldown to set flags.

FWIW, apologies for an un-asked-for critique...

If you're using DGIndex (dvd2avi) already, why not go avisynth route into prem, or at least into avi? RE: raw avi, if you mean as in no codec, might look to HUFFYUV, picvideo etc. Going from YUV type colorspace to RGB (as in usual uncompressed) you lose significant picture quality.

Anyway, just a couple of thoughts...
