DVDR Compatibility?

Hi all,

I have succesfully backed up my first dvdr which plays beautifully on my dansai 852. However, no other machine will recognise the disk! My query is, why do all (new) standalone dvds not recognise the dvdr that i have created?

Here is the process.

1) smartripper - direct stream copy A+V only
2) (assuming file size less than 4.3 - author with either spruceup (if not widescreen) or scenarist and create title set of video_ts folder
3) Nero - udf/iso - copy video_ts folder

only my dansai will recognise the dvdr.

Media used -

Unbranded 4.7 general
Verbatim 4.7 dvd-rw (not +rw)

i also have 2 pioneer dvd-r's, but i do not want to waste disks.

is it likely to be the media, if so why does the verb not work?

Hi!

I haven't tested it, but i've downloaded a minidvd.iso from this site and burned it in cdrwin. My Dansai played it, but no info at all was availible, not even time elapsed, is it the same on your dvd? also Mp3 funktion sucks.

Ahhhh.... The Wonderfull 'Dansai's' - Is there anything these machines cant do - My friend has the pioneer A03 DVR and the copies/back-up's he's been doing... work on everything we've tried them on so far.... including (Dansai / Minato / Hitachi / Pioneer / Sony) I know he gets his media (Unbranded DVD R) from http://www.121cdr.co.uk at £1.99 each and thats the only media I've ever seen him use

thanks for the replies but i'm sorted now. So if anyone asks in the future the problem was with nero. I'm now burning with primo which is perfect-o-mundo!!
