Hi, first time poster here, but I've used the site on several occasions.
I was wondering if anyone could help me with getting a good TV capturing software program for my TV card?
The TV card I have right now is "ATI tv tuner", and the program I use to record is called "ATI Multimedia Center".
Every time I install it, it messes up my mic settings really bad so that I have to system restore.
Also, it doesn't seem to record from the TV with a good enough resolution some times, or screen size. I tried to record the opening intro from a PS2 game, but the window was rather small, and I don't know how to change it.
Can anyone recomend a good, and easy to use software for recording things from the TV, and having it record at a good resolution and such?
Thanks in advance

Check the tools listed here at videohelp, post the model of your ati card...

Perhaps post info on this, check ati knowledgebase etc... MMC shouldn't effect mic -- uses line in -- unless your hardware forces mic connection. Anyway, might be possible to get mmc working if you wanted to persue that...

Usually changed via your capture prog.
You'll find a huge amount of info if you read the guides here and both read and search prior threads. -

MMC tends to buggyness. You need to find the version that works best for your machine and card. The All-in-Wonder cards require MMC in order to get hardware encoding acceleration. I've found version 9.02 to be most stable.
ATI tuners including the AIW can capture directly with no compression using a variety of capture programs. Some PVR programs like BeyondTV will control the cards. Hardware encoding is only supported for the Theater 550 based ATI tuners.Recommends: Kiva.org - Loans that change lives.
