Dvd's play great, the vcd's that I get from elsewhere work fine, but all of the vcd's that I encode myself always go out of sync once in a while. I encode with tmpeg and have tried multiplexing with tmpeg and bbmpeg with no luck. I have tried burning with Nero and with Adaptac, no luck with either.
I was just wondering if anyone else has this same problem, or am I just doing something wrong. The movie will play for about ten minutes, then the video will go really fast and then slow and everything is out of sync for a minute before going back to normal, it can get really annoying.

I've got that problem once before, that when I encoded at 23.976 fps with NTSCfilm template. You guys should try Sefy's templates especially SEVCD (can find in this website), this one should work.

I own an Apex660 too and noticed that when I cut the movies after encoding I get audio/video synch problems. I also noticed that when I cut as I encode using source range, I don't have audio/video synch problems. This might help.

i dont think the cutting has anything to do with it...cuz why would it work on my pc perfectly..with no fault...well do u guys have any other suggestions on stand alone dvd players that work well..i use tmpegnc when doing all my encoding and cutting..so is there anyone out there who uses the same program and is able to play vcds without any a/v sync probelms? once again i use blue cdrs but i dont think thats the probelm cuz when i download *.bins of vcds and burn using same cdrs they work fine....
