My problem is this... I'm using WinAVI 6.2 to convert my rmvb files (around 150 mb each) into dvd format (batch convert for 3 files at a time) and it appears to make separate dvd folders that is around 8 GB size by the end of everything it converts (etc.) even with my constraint of 4.7 GB checked in the advanced options. Does anyone know how I can fit approx 3 RMVB converted files onto a DVD so that I can play it ok on a dvd player with everything sychronized (noting video and audio)?.. thanks in advance..

What is the total running time of the three files. Size doesn't mean anything, running time is what counts.

  3. Use a lower bitrate. Maybe a lower frame size too.

  4. what programs are you using? a lot of programs will limit your output files, or at least give you some sort of idea what the output file size is.....btw, at least from the sounds of it, 150mb RMVB files probably arent a very good source for going to dvd with.......your not likely to be obtaining a very good looking output, except maybe with some very extreme filtering (given the output filesize, im gonna guess that the files are likely at least an hour long each.......) and even then, i'd still have to guess that the output would be subpar.....i dunno for sure till you give us a bit more detail as far as length of the files, ect....

hey... my three RMVB files are around 45 mins each... so that would be a total of 135 mins (2 hours and 15 mins)... and what I need is a good way to approach these files to burn them on a 4.7 GB dvd with synchronized audio and video... best quality as possible... should i convert... then burn or what program can i use to limit the file size?... will dvdshrink help in any way... im kind of new at this... can anyone lead me step by step so i wont have to bother you guys again?

thanks in advance by the way...

The thread discusses the use of EO Video to convert from RMVB to AVI -- but the program supports MPEG2 for output too. Just use a suitable bitrate, about 4000 kbps for 135 minutes on a single layer DVD.
