I have a rar dvd file and its an iso that is 4.5gb, unfortunatly my file system is FAT32 not NTSC, I was just wondering if there is any possible way to be able to extract the dvd, or are there any programs that can extract the files into chunks instead of one large iso. The DVD i downloaded is split up into 66 rar files which join to make the 4.5gb iso.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance everybody!

It is NTFS, not NTSC that you need. The irony of this is that once the ISO is opened, the files will all be small enough to exist under FAT32. It is just the ISO that won't.
The easiest solution is to convert your drive to NTFS. You are running XP, so there is no reason to stick with the inefficient FAT32 filing system. Read this : http://aumha.org/win5/a/ntfscvt.php. It will solve all your problems, and give you a little more usable space as well.
I would suggest that the first thing you do after converting is defragment the drives.Read my blog here.

Straight off the bat, I'm assuming that you didn't make this ISO yourself (how could you possibly, with FAT32
) ...
... and secondly, you wouldn't have gone to the trouble of RARring into 66 files (I'm hoping you'd have more sense than that, anyways). So based on this, it sounds like whoever made the ISO file fooked up, because I'd say they've tried to make it fit a 4.37GB DVDR. Is it definitely 4.5GB (4,831,838,208 bytes), and not 4,500,000,000 bytes (around 4.2GB) ?
Either way though, you'll need NTFS.If in doubt, Google it. -
I have not tried this -- only a what if... Oh yeah, & FWIW
What about using Daemon tools or similar to create a virtual DVD DL, and use that as target for RAR?
TO be honest I haven't even looked at the docs to see if this is remotely possible -- just a thought. -
Nope, not possible with Daemon Tools. Daemon tools wil not recognise RAR files, it needs to be an ISO for daemon tools to work. You will need to extract it, as FAT32 has a 4GB limit, you will need to convert your hard drive to NTFS.

Ya i converted my file system to NTFS, and it worked like a charm, I was unaware there was a way to do it without formatting the drive. Thanks for all the advice.

Well, I guess someone (including myself) sould have mentioned that it was possible to convert from FAT32 to NTFS without formatting the hard drive. Unfortunately, it dont work vice versa.
