mpeg4 to mpeg1 help

i would like to convert mpeg4 from itunes to mpeg but because i don't have a dvd player, i am not given that option on their site; eventhough i can create dvd's using cd's with roxio. so is there another way i can convert without interfering with my karaoke software? will nero work, as that is recommended with karaoke builder studio?
also i would like to remove the wav from the video. this i can live without, but it would be a nice feature. so much software i have downloaded has interfered with karaoke builder studio, that i am afraid to downlaod anything, and i have given up emailing them to check.
any help would be appreciated.
i am staying away from divx. that definately causes problems for me.

There are many ways and tools for doing the conversion. Take a look in the CONVERT section to the left and choose MP4 > MPG.

I'm not familiar with your other software and there is no way of knowing which ones will or won't interfere with it. It will be matter of trial and error.
