  1. hi,

I have Nero 6, and I'd like to burn two DVD compliant MPEG2 files I have to a DVD-video disc. I wonder if you could point me in the direction of a tool that would do this please?

    Thanks.

Upgrade Nero to full version or buy a different DVD authoring program.

I'd change that to "a real DVD authoring program"!

  4. DVDauthorGUI will do it. You'd have to burn the ISO using DVD Decrypter (or ImgBurn, or some other burning software).

You need to author the MPEG-2 files before you burn them.

    If in doubt, Google it.

DVDAuthorGUI seems to ask me to demultiplex...is there an all-in-one solution to convert to DVD compliant VOB from MPEG2 that anyone knows of?

    Thanks very much though Darryl.

TDA, DVD-Lab - Basically all DVD authoring apps. Browse the TOOLS section.

  9. cheers guys! For the mean time (while I've got a trial of TMPGEnc DVD Author) I will use that, but are there any free tools?

    Thanks again

Most free ones are based on DVDAuthor, that wants elementary streams (m2v + audio). 2 exceptions are IfoEdit (but that one also needs elementary streams) and MuxMan (never used it).
In fact, regardless of tool, a system stream has to be demuxed to elementary streams, to be muxed back as VOB. The difference is if you have to do it yourself, or if the app will do it for you.
Again I urge you to brows this list. No need to ask for info that's already available.

You said it was DVD compliant. Therefore, I assumed that your video and audio were already demultiplexed. You need to de-mux the mpeg so that you have an audio file (wav, ac3, or mp2) and a video file (m2v). Make sure both your audio and video are DVD compliant. Remember mp2 is a PAL spec. I believe ac3 is NTSC.

  12. I am not sure, but I think dgMPEGdec (specifically dgIndex) will demux your mpeg2 for you.

  13. GFD will take muxed files.
