I want to make it clear that I do not work for this company nor do I sell their product.

I'm sharing this because I was running out of space so I bought a new shelfing system 3x the size but now after a year I've filled up more than half of it.

I posted a thread a long while back asking for advice and a lot of you shared some good stuff with me.

One important dynamic/problem that I had was that my shelfing unit is shallow and is not much deeper than a single DVD case. I finally found a shallow two ring binder that holds cd/dvd's and has an exterior insert. I'm using it for my backup sets of TV series and it's making a huge difference.

A major weakness of these is the plastic ring staying closed when you flip the CD/DVD's. I solved it by filling up the case with full DVD sleeves to determine the maximum amount of sleeves a case could hold. Then I simply glued the ring closed. Problem solved. Another issue is the plastic is solid but just barely. Feels cheap - but works great. On my shelves these binders stick out about 1/2 inch.

Hope this helps. Don't know if the link will work. I had to send you directly to the 'buy' page. Their site is not well done. I could only find the smaller binders onthe 'buy' page.

Frankly prices may be better elsewhere... and if you are aware of similar that stacks as well as these - I'd like to know.

    About those boxes...

How much longer is the box compared to a standard jewel case? Just want an idea how far off the shelf they may sit.

They're roughly 6-1/4 inches high, 6-1/4 inches wide and a little over 8 inches deep. So if you turned it sideways it'd be about an inch further over the shelf than a standard jewel case.

No lint free cloth. There is a paper backing but it's not what you're talking about. You would have to buy your own sleeves.

BTW any idea where you get those?

Those boxes are ever so slightly too big for my needs right now. Hopefully they'll help someone else. I like them because they look like they hold quite a bit in a small space. If only my shelves were deep enough and it would be nice if they came with an insert sleeve on the outside for a label.

I've saved the link. Who knows what type of shelving I'll invest in the next go round.

They come with 50 double-sided plastic sleeves. The center is a cloth-like material with plastic on each side.

As a side note, I first bought two of these early least year and the cost was $9.50 each. I went back to order some to give a few people for Christmas and the price had dropped to the current $5.47. They also give free shipping if your order totals $75 or more.

    No offense taken.

You know that looks really cool.

I also like the additional book that let's you store - I'm guessing - the corresponding disc cover.

Very interested in anyone's opinion on this if they've used one. Not too sure how it grabs onto the disc and sctraching troubles me.

I can see me moving my movies into this and keeping the cover sleeves next to it for reference

The Discgear system works well. I have been using one for over a year now with no scratching problems.
