I have a LiteON SOHW-1693S http://www.liteon.com/prod/getProduct.do?xml_id=4_2&menu_id=4_2_7&cid=1_7_13&pid=107 which I believe is a dual layer burner. I guess I need to know what software or burner program I need to do dual layer burns? I have RecordNow and RecordNow Max. Also I have a version of Nero that came with the burner.
Is there anything special or different than burning a single layer that I should be aware of? Finally what is a good brand of dual layer media to buy? Thanks for any help.![]()

You can do a search on this forum for 'dual layer burning' and get over 100 hits that should give you some good info.
The simplest program to use is DVD Decrypter, ISO read>ISO write.
Verbatim DL discs seem to work well for most burners. -
Hey thanks. I have DVD Decrypter however I didn't realize it was that simple to do a dual layer. I assume the burner knows when to switch layers? Anyway I shall pick up some Verbatim DL discs tomorrow and go for it.

The two programs I've use are .......
CopytoDVD with DVDFab Platinum (Express Mode) makes a 1:1 in an hour
and I used ... last night ... Sonic RecordNow Deluxe v7.21 ... took 2 hours to process and another 2 hours to verify.
and earlier today ... while I was taking care of some errands ... I started another copy/burning project and ETA time said 17 minutes ... how long did it really take ???
I don't know ... it was finished when I got home ... I was gone for about 4 hours at least.
I'm using Verbatim DVD+R DL ... right now $20 bucks for a 10 pack at Best Buy
Oh ... my burners are ... the PIONEER DVR-109 [mounted inside a USB external enclosure] and the Panasonic SW-9585S ... I also have the ...... Lite On SOHW-1693S but I haven't tried it to burn a DL disk.
Send me an PM and I'll let you in on a helpful tip -

OK I bought two 10 packs of Verbatim 6X dual layer DVD+R discs today at BestBuy on sale for $20 per 10 pack. I used DVD decrypter in ISO mode and my fist burn is perfect. Thanks for the help.
