I recently recorded a program to a blank DVD-RW, and finalized it so I could watch it on another player, it worked fine. I am trying to record new material to this disc, but it will not let me do it. The Disk setup function is greyed out, so I cannot erase the current contents or re-initialize it. It was initialized in Video Mode originally...wondering why the unit will not let me re-record to the disc..
Also, is it possible to watch a program on the HDD while recording another to Disc?
Thanks

The first thing you should try doing is unfinalizing your disc to add more video to it.Sometime you may switch the vr mode and video modes and that can mess things up.For your question about recording yes you can watch anything you have on the hard drive while recording a dvd. That is where the chase feauture is so great i love it.On your disc not erasing try each mode seperate and one will work.I had a few discs that would not erase or initialize but eventually did .This machine also likes 2x writing on dvdrw discs for some reason.

I have to format my RW discs (on the computer) before I can reuse them. I have had poor results with the quick format also. That may be the player spitting up as the same disc plays well on the computer and Pioneer (633).
40 minute Full format before I reuse the disc.
