avisynth->virtualdub->logo remover or crop to get rid of subtitles->avi/framserve->tmpgenc.

  3. Ok thank you very much.

This is excellent, or weould be if i wasn't doing it on a star wars film.

This means that the Scrolling bit at the begining gets all messed up.

    Anyway to solve this?

Sp don't apply the filter to the whole film. You COULD set a range of frames to process, ya know...

On the other hand... Unless you're just testing the program, with Star Wars collection DVD's so cheap (probably cheaper in Chinatown or something) there's really no much point in messing with RMVB's unless you have no other source...

  5. well it is one of the new ones. and i haven't seen it for anywhere near as little as i want to spend.

But i have got it. THe subs only creap onto the picture by a few pixels, so i croped it and set the logofremover to only go up 5 pixels.
The bottom 5 pixels look blured, but hardly noticeable.

I can see the only problem being that now my avi file is going to be some weird aspect ratio.
Cos it was 16:9 with black bars top and bottom, now it is whatever just the picture was.

And am not sure if after writing to a dvd it will be distorted...

  6. Ok i didn't realise the subs go onto 2 lines at some points.

So how do i specify a range of frames to apply the logo remover on?

Use FitCD to help you fix the aspect ratio. The lower half of the program is all about aspect ratio calculations. Even generates an AVISynth script for you to add the black bars back.

  8. I think i am going to redownload anothe version.

This appealed to me bacuse of the insane compression.

But the effort put in to remove the subs is rediculous...

Please, don't tell us about your sordid and potentially unlawful conduct! (just kidding!)
