I use DVD shrink to rip and CloneDVD2 to take out the unwanted stuff. I've seen alot of people say they use DVD Decrypter and DVD shrink together. Why would that use both? Only thing i can think of is that they use dvd shrink to rip as a ISO and then dvd decrypter to burn. But when i'm done with shrink and clone dvd2 i play the files through CyberLink PowerDVD and some parts look choppy. Does everyones dvd they backup look choppy or am i doing something wrong? Thanks for all the help.

Rip as FILE in DVD Decrypter. Using DVD Shrink off a disc is super slow compared to off the hard drive, even including separate rip time.

You can also use DVD Decrypter to burn from an ISO that DVD Shrink creates, but most people use Nero option.

Choppy? Probably the player software. Or viewing interlaced footage. Watch it on a tv instead.

i'm fairly new with dvd decrypter. i only use it to burn iso files...nothing else. trying to backup wedding crashers...it has both theatrical and unrated version. I only need one version. But i've never seen the movie yet so i have no clue what VTS file to blank out. When i go to file mode the capacity is about 59GB. I only have 22gb of free space. damn...that sucks...

The capacity wont be 59GB. It could be 5.9 GB, it might even be miss calculated at higher than that. Generally, there are two ways to put two versions of a film on a disc. The idiots way is to have two seperate versions. Given the size of your disc, I doubt this to be the case here. Ther other is to use branching, and duplicate only the changed chapters.

I would rip the whole thing to your HDD as described in prio posts, then load it into DVD Shrink and see how many titles it can see. If it see two, choose the larger.
