I recently got a PSP for myself for christmas and I can't seem to get the encoding to work properly. I am encoding from .avi files which were previously encoded to XVID, AC3(passthrough). Because most of my movies are in 2:35:1 aspect ratio I am selected the present PSP mode then adjusting the size to 368 x 160 with 24 padding on the top and bottom. Thus far I have not been able to get anything to play on the PSP. When I try to play the movie I get invalid format error. Is there any trick I should be looking into? Thanks for the help. And by the way my PSP has the latest firmware upgrade installed if that matters.

I guess that 368x160 is unsupported by the PSP. Try 368x208 and check http://homepage.mac.com/major4/psp.html

Major I got it working. The 368 x120 works fine as long as you have the padding setup right for it. For some reason the particular movie I was trying to work with was having problems. I tried a different movie and had 0 problems. Should have checked that before I posted. My apologies.
