Strangeness. Trying to convert to .MP4 (with both mpeg4 and xvid). Here's the ugly report:

    Code:
Encoding started on Sat Jan 7 21:32:46 EST 2006
    Input #0, mpeg, from '/Users/admin/Desktop/pym/Videos/eeetest.mpg':
      Duration: 00:24:56.7, start: 0.289478, bitrate: 1395 kb/s
      Stream #0.0: Audio: mp2, 44100 Hz, stereo, 224 kb/s
      Stream #0.1: Video: mpeg1video, 352x240, 29.97 fps
Codec type mismatch for mapping #0.0 -> #0.0
Same deal no matter how I juggle things around (bitrates, resolutions, etc.). Not encoding audio or video doesn't help. Works fine, however, if I go with the stock iPod settings. Any ideas?

    Thanks!

    FOUND IT!

Needed to hit the 'invert mapping' box in the audio settings. Fixed me right up.

    Thanks for a great product.

I had the same problem. I tried the solution suggested here, and it didn't work... still went immediately to 100%. Here's the info from the Progress app:

    Code:
Encoding started on Thu Feb 2 00:13:11 PST 2006
    Input #0, mov,mp4,m4a,3gp, from '/Volumes/sam_backup/anime/One Piece/[K-F]_One_Piece_167_[13B38BA3].mp4':
    , start: 0.000000, bitrate: 1400 kb/s
      Stream #0.0: Video: h264, 640x480, 23.98 fps
      Stream #0.1: Audio: mpeg4aac, 48000 Hz, stereo
Codec type mismatch for mapping #0.1 -> #0.0
It happens whether I try to export to iPod TV or iPod H.264.
