  1. im recording some old vhs tapes to dvd .. i can hear the hiss and air sound on the tapes . i guess because of the quality. there in . what i like to know is there way i can clean up the sound on it as i record to the dvd recorder or is there a program tha will work on the computer that i can rip to computer and clean up the sound and them back to dvd .. hope someone can help on this be very greatfull .. please email me spinmaster23@hotmail.com

    If you have the video file on your computer, you could try Audacity (Freeware) or Goldwave (Payware) to clean up the tape noise. But remember filtering usually removes some quality, so don't overdo it.

  3. will it work see the vob files so it can filter it the sond or will i have to rip jsut audio?

  4. First try a different VCR. Sometimes the audio track doesn't line up well with the audio head if it was recorded on a different machine, especially with older recordings. This can cause and/or increase audio hiss.

    I had a few 20 year old tapes that I could barely hear on one vcr that sounded fine on a different one.

  5. ok il try that .. i been useing a govideo dual deck vcr model number dv2120 ..

    hope it works on another vcr ..
