AVI to DVD help

i have a film (saw 2) in the file format of AVI i think it was divx or one of the AVI and i used IMTOO video converter to convert the file into AVI plain AVI audio video something, i then used WINAVI to convert the file from AVI to DVD. i then used ASHAMPOO burning studio 5 to burn the dvd file and to make a DVD disc i selceted the correct disc type. the dvd i am using is a DVD-RW i then put it into my dvd player anf it spits it back out and plays nothing, my dvd player is a MICO DIAMANTEE 3000 imalmost certain it plays DVD-RW ....i then put the same disc into one of my playstations and it came out in black and white but wen the disc is inserted into my pc it works fine...kinda new to all this..think it might bee to do with region code im in ENGLAND region code 2 i think help apreciated..
