  1. i need help. i jus downloaded an avi file and at a certain point in the movie it makes a weird blurry noise and goes back to normal. and when i try to encode it to a mpg, from the error on it doesnt stop. i tried to extract the sound to wav format and then encode but it wont let me extract it all and i tried to use divx fix but that f**** it up even more. cuz now everthing isnt in sync. if u can help me out or have any suggestion please email me or leave a reply. i would be very grateful if u could.

    Well, I guess that when the file was encoded the audio messed up... If you can open it in Virtual Dub... that would be good. Try this, not sure if it will work since it would let you extract the WAVE before. If this will give you an error I think the file is corrupt and maybe you should download it again or try to get another copy of it.

    In Virtual Dub, set the Audio Compression to Uncompressed and Full Processing, set the video to Direct Stream and Save Avi... the file size will be about the Double as the one you have.

    If this works, you won't have any problems Encoding it in TMPGenc then... If it's oout of sync then you have to come up with a way to put them back in sync, this will only help you to get the Audio fixed... but as I said, I'm not sure this will work.. it's very possible you file is corrupt.

    Usually when i find files with Audio errors it's in the beginning or in the end. Then I try to find out what frame is causing the trouble and if it does'nt take to much out of the clip... I encode without that frame!
