  1. Hi:

I have a Sony RDR GX7 recorder that "seems" to be working fine. (Have it for two years with no problems).

I recently bought a GO Video DP 8440 (portable) for it's multi-format playback capability. Again, it seems to work fine when I play regular DVD movies. There's a problem with "home recordings" though.

Am I missing a step (or other device) which is preventing me from playing my recorded DVD from the RDR GX7 to the 8440?

All I'm trying to do is to record on either a -RW or +RW to play on the portable. I make sure that I finalize the disc but I keep getting a "wrong disc" message on the 8440. Should I also be considering the disc manufacturer?

Thanks (from a Newbie with a capital "N")

Wrong Disc, Normally means the player doesn't like that brand of Media. Try a better brand like Tanyo Yuden's and see if that helps. Some players are just more picky with media than others.
