Okay my video will be approx. 3 hours and 15 minutes.
I've decided this can be split up between 2 discs. At what point in those 3 hours and 15 mins would you split it? I'm having trouble deciding.

I would split it at about the 1hr 45min mark, give or take a few minutes based on the content of the scene at that time (ie. at a scene transition).

Alright I'll look into that. And yeah, I'll make sure there is some sort of transition scene. The video took short clips from one tape, then a full tape and an almost full tape.
Total video = 195 mins (approx.)
1h 45m split = 105 mins
Remaining = 90 mins
Which would fit on one DVD cause they are 120 mins each. Just thinking out loud here. I'll try that unless someone else has a better idea. -
The reason I gave that point to split is that if a burnt DVD is going to have problems playing on a DVD player, it often does so near the end of the DVD (ie the outer edge). So I try to avoid burning right to the evey edge of the disc.
Since you are planning on using 2 discs anyway, I would ensure that you not fill the first disk completely, so a 50/50 split or there abouts would be what I would do...
