I would say that both would work equally as well but if this other mod failed you could still always use your original chip

If it were me I probably wouldnt even do the romeo mod on the version 10

I think there is also a summone fix that works pretty much just as well as the romeo mod on a version 10 you just put a resistor on 2 points I would have to lok this up to find it though

I have had one version 9-10 to go bad once out of about 15-20 or so that I modded without using any fix

  2. Please if you find the V10 summone fix it would be very helpful.

    thanks.

  3. Thanks a lot!
    That's a great troubleshooting link!
But it only mentions the "SummOne's Fix" for V9 & V12, not for V10...

    V9:

    V12:

By the way, I'm going to install the same Matrix Infinity 5E DNS 1011 clone in my mates V14 75004CB PS-2 (Not sure which GH-XX model it is as I have not opened it up yet?)

Do I need to do the Laser fix on a V14 PS-2, as I've heard that it's only needed for the V12 & V13?
But here it says that it's needed for all V12, V13, V14 models, or else the LA chip & Laser will fry in time:
    http://www.modchip.com/ps2/v12laserfix.htm
Or are they just trying to sell it?

The laser fix came with the mod chip and it looks like the Neo Fix XIII / XIV:
    http://www.modchip.com/ps2/v12laserfix.htm
But it doesn’t say if it’s a XIII or XIV, so I guess its clone.
So would it be ok on any V14 model?

By the way, would this be the best spot on the V14 PCB to place any mod chip?

    Thanks in advance.

version9 and 10 are exact same board only the bios is differnt

Ihe for the version14 you dont need it I dont think
I have not installed the fix for any I have worked on Version (12 or 13) about 10 or so and they are all still working

Any big empty spot on the motherboard
you can use hot glue to hold the chip in place
(i like to place the chip very close to a ground pad near a empty place on the motherboard)

  5. By the way, will this Matrix Infinity 5E DNS 1011 clone work on the latest V14-V16 75004CB GH-040-02 / 12 Slim PS-2?

    Here:
    http://matrixmod.com/prod-ps2/1011/111.htm

It has the diagrams up to V12 (Which are the same as the official Matrix Diagrams), but not the V14-V16 Slim models.

When I boot a game on my mates V7 PS-2, with this Matrix Infinity 5E DNS 1011 Clone installed, under the "PlayStation2" logo it says: "Infinity 1.4"

I want to know before I buy another one and install it in my V14-V16 75004CB Slim PS-2

    Thanks in advance.
