Help, VCD won't play past intro movie

Hi folks, I recently used TSCV to create a VCD with an intro movie, a still menu, and 1 movie on it. It plays fine on my Pioneer 434, but when I try to play it on my parents Philips 701 it won't get past the intro movie. It plays that and then just stops. I can't use any of the controls to make it go to the menu. In fact, hitting stop on the remote causes the intro to play 2 more times and then I can finally get the disc to eject. Very strange. Yet the disc plays fine on my Pioneer. The intro plays, it goes right into the menu and loops there (there is a fraction of a second delay in the audio restarting as it loops; maybe that means something), and then I can either play the movie or use the numeric keys to jump to the chapters I set up.

Does anyone have any idea why it would get stuck where it does?

disable PBC if u want to salvage the disk.

Disabling PBC should disable the menu functions.

Hi Greg,

I assume you mean to turn off PBC on the Philips player. I won't get a chance to try it until I stop over my parents house again over the weekend. I'm guessing this will simply play the intro movie and then jump straight into the main movie? But can you tell me why it's getting stuck where it does on the Philips but plays fine on the Pioneer. Did I somehow screw up the settings in TSCV?
