    Hi,

Wonder if anyone out there can help me out with a DVD related problem?

In my job I make DVD's of various TV programmes and mail them out to clients.

To make my original copy I have a 'standalone' DVD burner that requires me to use DVD+R's. I record my programme in 3 sections and these appear as 'thumbnails' on the menu screen when I insert my disc after burning. I then finalise my DVD+R on the 'standalone' burner and then take the disc to my PC where I use Nero to make a carbon copy, again using DVD+R's for each copy.

The problem I have is that probably 30% of the recipients say the discs don't work and I could never work out why?

I then thought it must be the DVD+R's. So after making my original, using a DVD+R on my burner, I attempted to copy them through Nero on a DVD-R. What happened was that only the first 'thumbnail' could be accessed. It seemed that the DVD-R wouldn't allow me to move to track 2 or3.

The whole sorry business has caused hours of stress and frustration.

    Here's my question....

How do I get a TV programme onto a DVD that will work everywhere?

    Any assistance is much obliged.

    Cheers

    Alf

    You won't.

DVD-R discs have a higher compatibility rate than the +R discs, but neither is guaranteed to be 100% compatible with all stand-alone DVD players.
especially older models. my first DVD player wouldn't play any burned DVD's.

I don't know what your job is, but you should read this sites rules very closely. https://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=124514
It is important to chose your words very carefully -- even if what you do is not illegal, unless you make yourself very clear, it may appear to be "bad" and get you a red card here in the forums.
I'm not sure how things are 'across the pond' but I'm pretty sure that the 'service' you're providing is illegal as hell here in the US.
