I used mac the ripper to open a live stage show I had recorded on a VHS video camera and then digitized on a PC and burned onto a DVD.
I want to add titles and credits to this. How do I do it?
It seems the VOB files that mac the ripper left me with do not work on iMovie, iDVD or any of the mac software that came with my iMac iSight I just bought.
I will soon have a digital video camera so this problem will disappear but I need to edit movies I had made with a VHS camera?
Thanks for any help.

You don't need Mactheripper with DVDs that are not copy protected. You could open the first of the VOB set with MPEG Streamclip. Streamclip has the option to save as DV, which converts the video to a format that iMovie and iDVD can use.
Lots of other applications also do this export including Cinematize and Toast 7. -
You only need Toast 7. Insert the DVD and select DVD video in the Toast Video window. Click the Media button in Toast to enter the Media Browser. Click DVD with the top button that appears. Go down one level (using the lower button) and drag the video from the Media Browser to the Toast Video window. Toast now extracts the MPEG from the DVD.
When that is finished, select the video in the Toast Video window and click the Export button. There you'll see the option to export to DV.
