My Windows Media Maker keeps crashing everytime I try and drag something to the timeline, I have tried to uninstall it, but I dont actually believe I can due to it being part of windows, and thus, it can only be updated, but not removed, is this correct???
The problem with that, is that the latest version requires SP2 (so I believe) and I dont want to install that (yes I know some of you guys like SP2, but others dont, and as I have had one too many bad reports from colleagues, I am going to defer to the 'its crap' camp lol)
Does anyone know if it is possible to run the latest version of Media Maker without installing SP2? if so, where can I download it? or, is there a way I can find out just why my current version of Media Maker is crashing (ie: if there is a software conflict, how do I find out?)
Thanks![]()

SP2 is no big deal. Most of the problems people have had are related to security updates included in the update and can be disabled or changed to get any issues resolved. I have had only 2 minor issues with SP2 and both were easy fixes.
There is no Windows Media Maker...when you find the correct name, go to microsoft.com and do a search in the download section. There you will find the latest version.Google is your Friend
