My customers are reporting to me that they are having problems
viewing my film. Some are experiencing stop motion in the video and
audio while others say it is not playing at all. They are using old to brand
new players. I have viewed the ones returned on my players
(XP win media player, Polaroid and Phillips, and experienced
nothing wrong. I cut and authored these in Ulead, burnt them with Nero,
used Memorex dvd-r discs, and my samsung firmware is updated.

So I guess my question is, , should I be burning on a dvd+/-r to help
eleviate this problem, or does anyone have any other suggestions??

AFAIK, Memorex is just a brand - who's amnufactured the batch you've bought is anyones guess. Seems like the big brands just buy what's available at the moment on the market.
I think -R has a little (but not significantly so) compatibility advantage over +R, but quality varies widely (and even good media is rejected by some players - there's no 100% compatible recordable media) within a format.
For quality, it's the manufacturer that counts - take a look at www.nomorecoasters.com

  3. if its not a media problem,or even a hardware problem(on your end,not theirs),then i would place my bet on either uncompliant vobs/a disc which is improperly authored or more than likely, its poor media, and their players just are more picky, get some verbatim,or like quality media.
oh,and stop burning with nero, its shit for dvds,IMO,use copytodvd or imgburn for image files.

  5. My first thought, bad media. Memorex is probably one of the worst media out there. On their CD-R's, they use CMC, which is bad media. I have some Memorex CD-R's, that were sitting in my closet for a year. I recently checked them, and several discs are now unreadable! It's because of the cheap CMC media and dye. You're better off paying more for better media. I've never had problems with Fuji and Maxell (Made in Japan). They just work.

I downloaded the DVD identifier from the tools section last night. Thats what they are. CMC What a burn. . . . Recently I had ordered some bulk discs, what I thought were cheepo made, from a company out in California and identified them with it, only to find out they were rated higher. I can't afford to loose my patrons.

    Thanks a bunch
