I know this has sorta been discussed before but....with the newest version of DVD Decrypter when i burn any ISO the device buffer and regular buffer seems to look fine for about the first 10-20% of the burn but then the buffers randomly through the rest of the burn fly all over the place down to almost 0 and up and down randomly. But however my completed DVDS seem to play fine but I always with Nero never saw this , it always held a full buffer the complete burn. I've switched from Nero because the DVDs it burns wont play sometimes or have pixelization . Any help please.

  2. stop running background programmes when burning, dont surf the net, etc.
but if there playing, theres no problem right?
you could be burning on the limits of your system/burners speed-which is probably the case

I'm not a noob as far as burning so I know not to have background stuff running, i just don't feel comfortable with my buffers dropping to 0 during a burn. I checked all the normal stuff dma etc. Buffer continues to drop out here and there during a burn.

Helius, just a question, are you using a pioneer DVDRW? I have seen buffer reporting like this on two different pioneer 108 drives, although every burn was OK.

i haven't seen it lately maybe i updated the firmware or transcoders.

  5. more ram and a better processor, better cables etc will improve it,if its not background processes.
i just reckon that the system is a slower one, with your pc details, and thats just how it is.upgrading equipment would be the only other option,IMO.
even xp uses about 1/3 of your system resources,on idle.
you could always increase the buffer size,i think its set to 20meg,as standard,go into dvddecrypter tools,settings,I/O and increase the slider.

ok ill try that RottenFoxBreath, heh What about same tab/ options for "Interface" ASPI/ASAPI/SPTI/ etc....
and what do you have 'your' buffer set at?
BTW I'm using a Lite-ON 1693S burning at 8X. I'm assuming the Lite-ON drive is kicking it down to maybe 6X when it encounters the buffer drop cuz right at the end of the burn it shows its burning around 6x? thnx
