I am making a copy of a DVD I made last summer, using DVDShrink. When I made the original DVD, I gave it a title ("KidsXmasProgs").

In "My Computer" the E drive tells me the title of the disc is "New", but in DVDShrink, it says the title of disc is "KidsXmasProgs".

I thought the vulume label and the disc title name were the same thing. Am I wrong, or can anyone tell me what I may have done incorrectly to have this sort of situation? It's not a big deal or anything, I just want to know what I did wrong.

  2. They're different, the title is placed in the VIDEO_TS.IFO file by the authoring program and the volume name is placed by the burn software.
DVDShrink will name the DVD volume whatever the main folder is called.

If you used Nero to burn your Shrink DVD, it calls all DVDs 'New' by default. If you click on 'Label' when selecting a new compilation, you can change the volume label, add a date or you can add other info with the 'More fields' button if you want.

  5. .....and if your one of those people that creates *.ISO image before you burn there's still an opportunity to fix the problem.

......then click on the little folder in the upper right hand corner and browse to your ISO file.

It works with Nero images as well.

Yes, in DVDShrink that is the location where I titled the DVD.

I think I *did* use Nero to burn the original disc. I used TMPG DVD Author to make the DVD out of all the different files I have of the kids in their Christmas programs from the last couple of years, compiled it, then I most likely would have used Nero to burn it to DVD-R. I'm not sure though, but that "New" label makes me think that's what I did. I must have run it through DVDShrink at one stage though, where it got the title I thought the disc would have. I'll have to make sure to change that next time I use Nero. It's not a big deal, I'm just making copies for the grandparents, they won't ever see the little goofs like this. I just like to know what I did when I make an error.

    Thanks for the input folks!
