    Hello!

I want to convert a Xvid 640X480 resolution with AC3 sound to DVD. I want as good quality as possible. Which method is best to use to get great quality??. I dont want any worse quality than whats in the original file!.

Also I want it to be able to handle subtitle files meaning converting text subs to DVD bitmap subs. Also chapter creation ever 5 minutes would be great!.

Will DivXToDVD be a good choice??

How fast is it at converting a 2 hour Xvid to DVD on a AMD Athlon XP 2600+ system that I am using??

I dont want it to take more then 4-5 hours!

I have heard that DivXToDVD is easy to use and very fast at converting. But this worries me if it is fast will it produce shitty video??. As said I want good quality video that are good enough for a 51" TV!.
    Sincerely Joakim Agren!

    Why bother with an all-in-one?

I would use TMPGEnc Plus and manually set everything as needed (bitrate, resolution, GOP, etc). I get to control everything.

Then I'd use TDA to author a menu-less disc.

Uses software most people already own, no reason to buy or install anything else.

    Easy enough.

  3. If you are seekng "best quality" then walk away from DivxToDVD as fast as your legs can carry you.
Agree w/smuf, but would also add AVI2DVD, The Film Machine, & SVCD2DVD as conversion apps that can produce excellent results using included freeware encoders
