    I've done what was advised on this sight (turned off hardware acceleration, and used hypersnap) and I can't get my screenshots of dvds to turn out as anything but a black box. Anything else I can try.

    I normally use a software DVD player to grab screen shots, usually PowerDVD. If you are getting a black screen, check your video card settings. The black screen problem may be related to overlay settings for your video card.
