  1. Hi there,

Does anyone know of a way to copy a DVD to Divx Media Format that includes its simple chapter list menu. I found that Intervideo DVD Copy does exactly that, but there is no way to change the quality. Its seems to be set to one resolution. Doesn anyone know how to change the quality or profiles for the Divx mode, not Divx(AVI)? Otherwise is there another program that can do this?

    Thanks so much

    Divx does not support menu/chapters.

I had read somewhere that the latest xvid format supports some sort of menu system...but I haven't seen it in action.

  3. the divx media format does. check out intervideos dvd copy. choose divx, not divx(avi). you'll see that it does. it just sucks that it resized the video to 640x480.

  4. yes, the divx media format does in fact support not only chaptering, but also menus, alternitive audio, subtitiles, ect....as far as the alternitive audio and subs, i know how to do that part...im not too familiar with the chaptering or menus though, as those appear to require some rather deep knowledge of programming and such....hopefully someone will slap together a nice free program to do dvd>divx conversions with menus and all....

  5. I asked on divx forum, why is it not possible to parse IFO file in DVD and create menus out of it as I believe that all menu information is stored in IFO file so if at all it needs programming, somebody can write a program to parse IFO file and just put that details in the beginning of the file?, One user was very quick to respond that its not possible but failed to give clarification why!!

To try out latest beta of DVD converter, I converted one DVD and I can see menus there but they are inactive, so may be things are in progress and we have to wait for a while!!
