  1. .sub not just subtitles & not the computer software dvd player but a standalone player.

    My 642, with the latest firmware only plays SRT subtitles. I'd prefer not to have to keep converting SUB to SRT.... I searched the dvd player list on the left column, but '.sub' isn't a searchable variable it appears.

    The OPPO unit will....and it is 100% Divx Pro certified...not just Divx certified like the 642. It also plays the subs by simply pressing the subtitle button during playback...unlike the menu workaround on the 642.

  3. the sumvision dvd recorders do too,i just picked one up for £60,and it plays excellently.
