Ok, I know it is not the optimal solution to do that but since I won't do that so often I don't want to buy any software and I think it should work somehow in the way I want to that.
I've got two movies/clips (nothing copyright protected I promise - just selfmade shortclips with multiple audio streams) that I put via IfoEdit DVDAuthoring into two different VIDEO_TS directories...
Now I want to create a simple menu so that I can choose between these two movies (no need to select the audio streams just get the movies started)...
My idea was the following:
With an old version of Ulead DVDWorkshop (was in a magazine) I have created a menu and linked it with two dummy videos (0,1s black 28kb) and created a third video_ts dir.
Now I would like to do the following in IfoEdit:
(1) Rename the vts_01 from the two movies into vts_02 and vts_03 in the menu directory
(2) Add these movies to the video_ts files of the menu
(3) Change the link of the Menu from the Dummy video (Title 1&2 from vts_01) to the two movies (Title1 of vts_02 and vts_03)
But especially (3) is quite tricky since I cannot find where it is saved to which title which Button links.
Can you help me with that?
Btw: My version of DVD Workshop cannot work with multiple audio streams that why I cannot do everything with it.

You're really doing this the hard way!
Get TMPGEnc DVD Author (free 30 day trial) or DVDAuthorGUI or GUI for DVDAuthor (both free) - with any of those, a 2 movie DVD with a simple "Select movie" menu is a breeze - specially with TDA.

And how, if I want to do it the hard way?
I can't believe that its so difficult. I've merged the DVD's together without any problem. I just need a line which says (CallSS VMGM) Call VMG PGC: 1 [Resume Cell: 1] or something similar and change it into (CallSS VMGM) Call VMG PGC: 2 [Resume Cell: 1]. That's it.
Where are the commands of the Root-Menu saved??? -
Using VobBlanker you can replace the vts_1, vts_2 vobs etc from your original dummy with ifoedit created vobs -- there's a few guides here at videohelp.com. I'm not sure how well it will work however using dummy files -- I normally create 1 layout with menues, create separate layouts in muxman for each title, then replace the vobs with VobBlanker to add graphic format subs, pretty much following the guides I mentioned. You might want to try that route, using your U-Lead app to do the menu stuff.
If you want to play with the ifo's directly, then I'd suggest trying pgcedit.
